I'm not sure if they could do that without any repercussions for not paying, legally I think they would still be required to pay off the debt, and the system would probably just end up adding extra legal fees on top of any possible court orders. But lets say they did go, they would effectively become homeless vagabonds, exposed to the elements, hunger, malnutrition. And a network of wealthy elites that would probably report them in if they discovered their past. It would be harder for them to get other jobs as the family on the move in such conditions would seem sus.

You could see violent revolutions spark quite easily if conditions like that were to become more widespread.

@iii___iii Too many people are still in their comfort zones that's why. So people look the other way to focus only on themselves and their own issues.

@genghiskhan9200 It is easier when you dont have a wife and kids. The way the guy in the video sums it up, he probably thinks at least my kids will be free and have a roof over their heads and food for now. They may even have access to education. It is a horrible situation though, it's basically like the indentured servitude you used to get in western countries 150 years ago or so. Which was like an extension of serfdom.
