  1.  @nicpin5102  The intention was good. For most people, this is the best we can do. We don't all have access to anesthesia/tranquelizers for animals and shelter facilities in our property. Animal rescue might have been an option but that's only viable near towns where such a service even exists in that area.

  2. People don't sterlise their pets and then find they can't sell or give them away, nor can they afford to look after them all so they literally throw them away. Awful people. We should have harsher penalties to put people off from doing this kind of thing.

  3. Most breeders arent ethical. Some do care about the welfare of their animals but others just see them as easy money and if the animal suffers, or if they have to kill unwanted animals, they are like, "oh well" shrug its "not my fault no-one wanted to buy it". Sure, but it's their fault that animal existed a short life of suffering in the first place. Not good people. For every professional breeder that follows high standards and good welfare practices, there will be 5, who are just scumbags looking to make an easy buck at the expense of the living standards of these dogs and cats.

  5. @A Z Ok, i think he made a bad call then. And that bad call was trying to free the animal without tranquilizing it first. But that can also be risky. The fox did a funny jump out of panic, which probably broke its wrist/front paw. But how often does that happen? The guy was trying to do it by the book, vs a tough tree, freakish incident. I see no malice here.

  10. I've got lizards in my garden too but they are smaller and more shy. A type of skink, the males are blue. The females are brown.

  16. People who dump/abandon their animals are scum. Many of them don't sterilise their pets to save a few bucks, but do some mental gymnastics to try delude themselves into thinking it's because they see sterilisation as cruel. And then they dump the animals they can't give away or look after, creating terrible suffering. Scum!

  38. The people who rescued the dog are awesome people. But I don't have a very high opinion of the owner. She didn't seem particularly pleased. Admittedly she might have been embarassed, but I would have been ecstatic and offered to give them at least 50 bucks or whatever I could afford to compensate the heroes for their trouble.
