@starcatcher7777 your the one that keeps bringing up the question about atheist societies, why? I as an atheist don't even want an atheist society. I want a society where people can have freedom of worship should they wish it or not.

@starcatcher7777 communism fails, because it ignores the dynamic of capitalism that better reflects human nature. Atheism wins because day by day there are more atheists and less christians. I take no delight in this, other than it probably irritates the hell out of you. Which makes my heart glow :)

@starcatcher7777 I don't feel the need for an 'atheist society' because it's an individuals choice. If the government started forcing people to give up their religions i would oppose it. Religion is a part of our history and culture as well, and has strongly influenced our values and our civlisation. Why break with it, especially if it isnt hurting anyone?

@starcatcher7777 Hoxha's Albania, and that sucked. But my point is that communism is an ideal of which atheism is but an aspect. The millions of murders under Stalin and other tyrants have been in class warfare and not as part of an anti religion campaign. That's not to say the anti religion campaigns didnt hurt people. But theres a lot of atheists who hate communism, Neitsczhe, Aryn Rand for example.

Scrap JSA and replace it with a public works projects scheme, people receive welfare but have to work for it. In return for good citizenship they will be guaranteed a basic home, their health care and basic state pension. And for their labour they will get slightly more than the current rate of JSA. The private sector cannot be relied on the resolve the unemployment problem and the above project will increase social cohesion as well as releasing a new force for production.

@starcatcher7777 it may satisfy you to know we may well be living in an atheist state in 100 years. Not because it's been forced by an oppressive regime but because if the best of christianity is people like you, totally lacking in charisma. You put people off religion. It's so pathetic it's almost funny :)
