  2. Maybe called that by the right wing. That said he was no saint. Revolutions are inherantly violent. But maybe if Batista wasnt such an asshole and cared even just a little bit for the poor people, the revolution would never have happened. My biggest criticism of Castro however is that he didnt allow the ushering in of democracy after the fall of the soviet union which i think has set Cuba back and caused great hardship, particularly in the decade that followed.
