  1. People in UK like to keep to themselves. There used to be a sense of community, people would be born, learn work and marry all in the same town, city or even village. And that's not necessarily a good thing to be so insular, it created a lot of pettiness. But it also created real meaningful bonds where people would notice when someone disappeared.

  2. Womens prison is too mild/soft in comparison to mens prison. That's partly why she's unphased.
