Rent is too high. And council tax.
26
Dont hate on it, let the people have their fun.

Even social housing is expensive compared to what council house rent used to be adjusted for inflation. And then you factor in council tax and you factor in flexible working hours so that rather than getting 40 hours you get 30 hours, or even less than that.

Well that's the problem in west europe. Conditions like this are bad so they do whatever possible to remain on the dole instead. I can't say I blame them as the dole will cover their rent in countries like UK. Whilst working may not cover their rent. But it's a big burden to the tax payer. It's ridiculous to have a system where workers are worse off than people who opt not to work.

Yeah, i couldn't help have a little chuckle.

In a nutshell we abandoned our duty of building/providing council housing which served the population so well in the past.

I voted for him in 2005. He was a good man.

@Blackrose01330 Thats not canonical. Plus, he's technically a lich not a zombie ;)

This is why Jeremy Corybyn has a popular support base. I don't see eye to eye with Corbyn on a lot of things, but i largely stand with him on the struggle for worker rights.

CHARLIE BROOKER IS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING! seriously!

Why is shooting in the back of the head worse than lethal injections done in parts of the USA? Where death can take 20 long and agonising minutes? If you're going to go down that path of executing criminals is it not better to give them a quick death than a slow death?

He can charge what he wants, but who the hell wants to go out just to eat a bowl of cereal? I find it hard to believe, but sadly i do, that theres some saddos out there who are like, wow a cereal cafe! How cool, i must check it out!

Some more traditional muslims have some dumb views on hygiene. They think that cleaning with only water is good enough as they consider water to have purifying properties when in reality it is not enough, especially for teeth and oral hygiene. Thus I wouldnt be surprised if his very father would tell him 'just rinse your mouth with water, none of that tooth paste nonsense' and as a result he got bad breath which he was obviously very self conscious of. And it probably contributed to some measure of alienation from his peers.

That will help, if they have the means or capacity to do so, but in the past you could live a good life doing unskilled work. You could even afford to buy a house if you were disciplined and didn't drink and were punctual. Those times are gone now, because things have gotten worse not better.

The like/dislike ratio is heartening to see!

It's not any different to what workers who work at factories via employment agencies have been going through for years prior to this news coming out. Why did no-one bat an eye-lid for those people but now they are concerned because it is Amazon? They're a corporation, they generally are designed to make money by any means possible within the constraints of the law. The liberal middle class is largely oblivious to the conditions of working class people and the working poor, and then they are shocked when things like brexit happen and start calling them xenophobic. But the truth is, it's because competition from migrant workers worsened their working conditions because companies found out that they could get away with treating workers badly.

I don't blame the so called hooligans. I blame the algerian knifeman and the governments that allow for immigration systems that facilitate dangerous people who hate western culture to get in. I bet that upon closer inspection most of the rioters are not even far right. Most have probably voted for centre left parties like labour in the past but now they're just mad that things like that are allowed to happen. And because their worries and concerns have been ignored and rudely dismissed for so long, they may be more inclined to vote for the far right now. There was a time, we had more common sense immigration systems and the common people were better off for it. That time was 1995 and if you look back at it, people weren't reactionary at all then. The opposite, people were generally liberal minded in the 90's and we should turn the clock back to how things were at least in this regard (regarding border control and immigration).

Youre right, that was kind of derpy of me but i edited it. Thanks for the heads up.;

in britain the union movement got hijacked by marxists/trotskites in the 1970's and it made unions unpopular. A shame because we need unions.

To be honest most factory jobs are a bit like this, it's not that out of the ordinary. I can handle being kept on my toes. What i can't handle is being turned away at a factory gate at 6 in the morning because an agency overbooked, yet you get charged for the transportation off your next pay packet. No wonder young people turn to petty crime when that is the only alternative for them. Broken Britain.
