Well that's the problem in west europe. Conditions like this are bad so they do whatever possible to remain on the dole instead. I can't say I blame them as the dole will cover their rent in countries like UK. Whilst working may not cover their rent. But it's a big burden to the tax payer. It's ridiculous to have a system where workers are worse off than people who opt not to work.

This is why Jeremy Corybyn has a popular support base. I don't see eye to eye with Corbyn on a lot of things, but i largely stand with him on the struggle for worker rights.

That will help, if they have the means or capacity to do so, but in the past you could live a good life doing unskilled work. You could even afford to buy a house if you were disciplined and didn't drink and were punctual. Those times are gone now, because things have gotten worse not better.

It's not any different to what workers who work at factories via employment agencies have been going through for years prior to this news coming out. Why did no-one bat an eye-lid for those people but now they are concerned because it is Amazon? They're a corporation, they generally are designed to make money by any means possible within the constraints of the law. The liberal middle class is largely oblivious to the conditions of working class people and the working poor, and then they are shocked when things like brexit happen and start calling them xenophobic. But the truth is, it's because competition from migrant workers worsened their working conditions because companies found out that they could get away with treating workers badly.

in britain the union movement got hijacked by marxists/trotskites in the 1970's and it made unions unpopular. A shame because we need unions.
