  1.  @Yandel21ableify  Depends on how you define socialism. Most right wingers would say they are not socialist, and they are technically right. But I consider the term to be broad. It ultimately comes down to a society that opts to share the wealth and support one another or not.

  2. He's not doing too well so far. The more militant mapuche are not interested in peace talks and ramped up hostilities, after Boric pulled troops out the south. He had hoped it would pave the way to talks but that doesn't seem to have worked. Also delinquency which was already pretty bad under Piniera continues to get worse and protests for a myriad of reasons but even from the left wingers who see him as too centrist/liberal and are not happy with him.

  3.  Lina Roa  It's not the richest, not by a long shot but it's the most 'well off'. Less squalor and crime, better baseline standard of living compared to most other SA countries.

  4. He is but he wants to work within the system. I don't think he's doing a very good job though. Yet, don't you think trying to go full socialist in a heavily globalized and capitalist world is economic suicide? Chile relies a lot on trade in the set up, and were you to go full socialist the first thing the IMF global banking system will do is wreck the value of your currency. And then it becomes really difficult to import things you have grown dependent on, and also to retain highly educated technical specialists like engineers, scientists and doctors. Many of whom will leave to to go to greener pastures. Moreover, the powers that be would look to place more obstacles, they could organise worker strikes within a nationalised copper industry, and even sanctions at some point down the line. And it would lead to an even worse spike in extreme poverty. This is partly what happened to Venezuela, when it lost its technical specialists, it's oil production plummeted. It is highly important to retain such people. But i digress a little. Boric is a socialist in my opinion but he is not practicing full socialism because he is somewhat realist to his credit. I'm no fan of his, but I hope things pick up for him and what he's doing. For the good of Chile and the Chileans.
