  2. Haiti is badly overpopulated. If they can control this, the island could recover and go strong by repairing the lands and planting new forests. If they don't do this over the next 50-100 years it's going to be like that forever. People forget how large the population is compared to the countries size and natural resources. In a highly developed advanced society you can pull it off, but not in an underdeveloped, small and low resource country. How did the population get so big then? Due to international aid handouts, high fertility rates, lack of education and bad leadership.

  7.  @LuckyAcc-gw1ej  If you can't produce enough food to feed your population and are dependent on food imports you are overpopulated. In Haiti's case they have very little arable land a population of 10 million in what is a very small country. Compare Iceland that has only about 350,000 people, it's a lot easier to feed 350,000 people than 10 million.

  8. The neo-liberalism did create a lot more wealth but it also led to globalism and now look at the situation we are in. We made authoritarian China a superpower, immigration has become a crisis and we've lost our manufacturing jobs while working standards are worse than they were 30 years ago as young people are forced to wait tables on zero hour contracts and what little crumbs they earn go mostly to their rich landlords they rent from. Unless they opt to live at their parents at the cost of their dignity. While for boomers, moving out and being independent was easy as long as you were a diligent worker. Even buying your own home was within reach for a semi-skilled worker with poor to average school grades, good luck with that now. Moreover, we are on the verge of a new dark age if the global warming problem is as serious as scientists say it is going to be within the next 50 years. Is Thatcher directly to blame for the situation we are in now? No, if anything it was more down to Tony Blair, Bush senior and Bill Clinton. But she and Reagan did help set the ball rolling in that general direction.
