  1. The north korea you speak of is the north korea of the 80's when they had aid and trade with all the communist bloc. Since then it isnt the same. The famine, and now hunger and want. If north korea had nothing to hide it wouldn't be so secretive. Look at Cuba, a tourist has a lot more freedom to explore the country and it's small towns and villages. While in north korea you can't because they are hiding how poor, hungry and run down the peasants are. You can only go to set areas with a minder.
