What can we do about it? So we dont have to give up steak? Have less babies. Use a condom. If there are less people on the planet there will be enough meat for everyone.

@laserchick4977 People want consumer products it's part of the first world life styles they enjoy or aspire to and if you are going to deny them this most will turn against you. If we all lived a spartan lifestyle with bare minimum needs met, we could probably sustain 20 billion people but people don't want to live like that.

How about we just have less kids until we find sustainability, rather than exhaust the earths resources until a mass famine and possible collapse of our civilisation and a new dark age ends up restoring the balance?

VeryEvilPettingZoo Offer people incentives of a financial nature to have less kids, take up vasectomy etc. Maybe support for their pensions. I think it's the only way as i'm aware you can't force people or you'll end up like Sanjay Gandhi of India, who ended up causing the opposite of his goal due to the angry counter reaction.
