  1. The toughest obstacle is the 'better the devil you know' mentality most voters have. People complain but no-one wants to rock the boat by giving newer parties a chance. While the mainstream parties have been largely compromised. Not necessarily to China, but it is so in some cases. But to whoever supports their party and the politicians careers the most. Maybe looking for ways to increase transparency as much as physically possible will help.
