I think it's economy will continue growing stronger for a time, but then overpopulation, climate change and a less stable geo-political situation and global market will lead to problems. As well as heightened expectations from the people. I see civil strife in the century to come.

I think this problem of rising number of elderly on pensions and declining workers to pay national insurance/pensions is overblown. Consider the following: 1) The ageing crisis is a one off or part of a cycle over a much longer period of time. i.e. whilst having an ageing population will be costly, eventually they will die and the next generation can look forward to a much smaller amount of elderly to look after in the future. This will lead to a financial surplus that can be carried over for the next cycle, or pay towards any debts accrued from the previous cycle. 2) Having a smaller population of working age people will mitigate the effects of unemployment which in part will be brought about by robotic automation which will hit industrial countries like China especially hard. The savings from not having to deal with an army of unemployed (which could lead to unrest/revolution) could be pumped into tackling the ageing crisis. 3) National service for young people, but in social care helping the elderly as an alternative to service in the army is another way we can mitigate increasing costs. 4) If you think we need a perpetually ever growing number of workers to pay for cost of elderly, every generation, what happens when they become elderly and there are even more elderly than before. You are effectively subscribing to an unsustainable pyramid scheme which will eventually collapse to terrible effect.

@gorsh7870 Nontheless, the stealing of an estimated 10 billion dollars would cause damage to any non first world country. Were the Argentinian government to have those funds for spending in a transparent and positive way, would it fix all their problems? No. But i'm sure they'd be a lot better off for it.

Rwanda will do well but it wont be the next Singapore because it's not an island, hence less shipping revenue and harder to control immigration so the new wealth will attract bad apples from neighbouring countries will make their way in so they can commit crimes and steal, then just hop back across the border with ill gotten gains. Security for Singapore is a lot easier so combined with it's strategic maritime location it's in a much better place than Rwanda could ever be. Not to draw away from the good progress achieved by Rwanda.

In terms of political power it will make them stronger but the social cost will be huge. Squalor, delinquency, chronic unemployment, little opportunity, high crime, riots, growth of political extremism. This will all be part of the package. Don't be like UK, France or Germany, try to be more like Finland or Iceland.
