  1. @Asian Boss The problem with unifying is that they would have to get rid of the North Korean government and then integrate the population into the South Korean government and culture. If they do unify, the North needs to be totally rebuilt as the country as is, is still stuck in the 1950s in terms of technology, infrastructure, etc. Heck, even setting up Internet infrastructure is going to take a long time. Educating people is going to be a immense job as well. But unifying won't matter as long as the Kim family is still in power, keeps making these threats, keeps up with their nuclear program, keeps up with their crimes against humanity, keeps taking people hostage, etc. Oh and another thing... If they do unify, everyone in the North is going to have to integrated and given ID and be put into the system as citizens. Also, what would happen to the people of South Korea? Would they all receive a new ID card as simply "Korea" and none of this Republic of Korea/South Korea and DPRK/North Korea? So besides the issues originating from the government side of things between the South and North, there's also issues of integrating people, educating people, building infrastructure, feeding all of these people, etc. It's going to take a lot of resources to the people of South Korea and of course they'll resent the North due to the strain on all of these people. Tax dollars will be spent, and probably taxes will drastically increase for the people of South. Even the logistics and finances will be crazy to manage and implement.
