It's all about the economy of things. Either males & females are working more and more these days where there's no time to take care of kids or people are not earning enough to suppose themselves let alone a family. On top of that, there's the issue of women not being given sufficient time off & paid time off to take care of kids. That comment about being too shy to date let alone marry is an issue for sure. The comment about population getting lower and eventually leading to a labor force that can't support the nation is a big concern too. Overall I think that this isn't a Japan problem. It's a problem that's been happening more often around the world. We need to have laws put in place effectively immediately where people are paid more and not working as much so there are opportunities for people to choose to have children & create a family without worrying about the financial constraints.
