@They_luv_kayy-w6j They don't do that when they're 18&21? (Nobody does that, right, because... let me guess, you know all individuals on planet earth.) ...Not even dead drunk, on cocaine and with - according to them - screwed sexual upbringing where sex was a family thing? Btw, it's just a TV Show with some director's need for - whatever; It's not a documentary based on nothing but facts.

My primary caregiver and abuser was not necessarily a pphile but it was his opinion that his child should be introduced to sexuality by the male parent and that it sexually belongs to him. Sick.

@2turnttjess Yeah, public has heard it for 30 years now. But people should precise "allegedly", as there is not a shred of valid evidence to this claim. (Yes, very often indeed no proof in such cases, logical. But that doesn't automatically confirm it, either.) I would love to believe them, but there are quite a lot of question marks... and they are pathological liars and skilled manipulators anyway, it's quite difficult to trust some of their narrative.

@2turnttjess Listen, I didn't mean to contradict but people jump immediately, as if there was only black & white. Pro Menendez people only look at the alleged horrific abuse; Contra Menendez people... lack any knowledge about possible consequences of complex long-term trauma inflicted by primary caregivers anyway... I understand many complex layers and dynamics in this particular setting of the Menendez family. I've been there - all my childhood & youth, and then I studied such topics in adulthood. I would like to believe these emotionally deranged fellows - as stated, there was a lot of rage in the killings, which can indicate a highly troubled and deep emotion (love&hate in one, killers -> victims). Which can further indicate they are speaking truth - their parents tortured them in some way and totally screwed them up mentally /& psy'. But, what else did the parents fail to do? They failed to teach them to become mature, responsible and independent adults who can deal with frustration & betrayal. Again, when Menendez Bros were 18&21, they were nowhere near adulthood (cognitively, emotionally). And this can indicate that they are indeed speaking truth, as severe perpetuate trauma in infancy & youth messes with parts of brain development. But such an upbringing can also create a palette of "dark" disorders. The issue I have with them - they are pathological liars and trained actors (from their home sweet home education & experience), they probably do have skills to fool people. If only they would stop lying about the money! As long as they are not sincere with the evident truth, I have hard times believing some of their other accounts. "Money was no motive" is really turning not one, but two blind eyes! They were too weak to jump into the void. To me, the killings were not only done because of the horrible abuse they claim to have endured. (But I blame US penalty system & society for this inability to free their minds, too.)

@2turnttjess Of course not, victims of horrible abuse are always perfect and good people, aren't they. Victims can't be scared of poverty, either, or have dark sides - especially with such a disturbing (->neurodevelopment) upbringing. Even I was scared to death back in times - knowing that I will be alone again in this world, and with nothing at my hands the day I wander off. Age 18/19 I literally thought: "If I unlive these 2 monsters who had adopted me to destroy me for 15yrs, and get away with it, I will have a house on an island, 3 appartments in 3 countries, cars, all the stuff... and money, and can keep the social network they created for me - if I walk away and never look back, I will go clean public toilets as I have no diploma yet with my gymnasium degree and will have to sleep in shelters..." - after all I had been through from birth on because of many bad people, this appeared very unfair to me and angered me. Well, in the end I managed to tame my dissociative urges to kill them, mainly because I didn't want to end up in specific facilities... I like watching sunsets on the beach. Money may not have been THE motive, but I do not blindly trust them, money was an important factor in my opinion; Btw, when you risk a death penalty or imprisonment for life, and have at least some sense for self-preservation and slightest intelligence, you WiLL put on the total angel-face in an absurd penalty system as the US has it.

@monica3818 my abuser (adoptive / legal father) gave me much money back then, I mostly spent it on drinking, clubbing and gifts for friends and myself. To me that money was dirty and meaningless. And I needed <good times> with everything I went through at home with him and his violent, sadistic, stone cold spouse who also didn't protect me against his s'abuse.

Just an input (I'm not taking sides here): jurors are average people. Had I been on that stand, no one would have believed my accounts as I do not match majority in certain reactional patterns, emotional profiles & co. I had an upbringing very similar - if not identical to that of the MBros and also multiple long-term trauma inflicted by the primary caregivers/my wealthy adopters who were monsters. I was already born traumatized because of the bio'mothers attempt to abort me (which induced birth) and have had neurodevelopmental issues in infancy / orphanage. I can fake emotions, reactions, or pimp my poor output. And would definitely do so in a trial that will decide about my freedom - or death penalty, too. BECAUSE the audience are average people. Average people need to see tears to understand that someone is affected. Average people do not know what dissociation is, or lack of / altered "average" developments in brain. Average people tend to believe someone who dramatizes enough more than someone who doesn't correspond to stereotypical expectations. When Lyle bragged about his performance, he might have very well been a) talking about his enhancement of output to correspond stereotypical expectarions b) his pride took over and he prefered brag about an achievement and be in denial about the reality of the trauma that humiliates him.
