@Novastar.SaberCombat "scientific fact", I see. Like many elaborated facts that were proven wrong later on? Especially about the brain... Has science proven the existence of a soul? Does emotional empathy stem from the soul? Anyway, splitting hairs...

One of the reasons is because someone who is on such a spectrum doesn't need therapy (from his/her point of view.) Many people seek therapy mostly because of emotional struggle and what it does to them. Or to improve their social interaction and maintain acceptance. These are things that affect people with given impairments less.

@TheBontekraai Why would you say that? I disagree because it depends on whether symptoms are investigated or causes. Countless scientific projects target causes. On the other hand I'd stongly agree that most if not all psychiatrists can only care for clinical symptoms as their work is based on that. Many mental disorders (if not all?) aren't defined by their cause but by their symptoms. I myself highly criticize that approach anyway and don't like psychotherapists who have not profoundly studied neurobiology and neurology. To me, these disciplines should be linked, mandatory. Which they aren't.

You say it yourself actually "Her emotional development was frozen in adolescence." Add some neuro- & developmental biology (infancy) to your studies and you'll understand why some readers suggest the person rather doesn't match a person with psychopathic features. Unless you left crucial information out... I don't know your friend and can't judge of course. But to me there already are several hints in that tiny text suggesting she has quite some emotional setting and emotional struggle.

And you know that... because you have studied, worked for decades with people on a psychopathic spectrum that aren't inmates and because you have officially tetermined the cause of a multifactoral disorder (that is still investigated) and impairments one can mostly only assess through behavioural analysis / clinically and partly through expensive screenings? ...
