Yes, a captain is severely inferior and unsuitable to discuss his potential capitol offense, or murder, instead of the admiral himself who’d be responsible for his murder
The idea that a mere captain would be sacrificed if needed is not unimaginable by the Royal Navy, the discussion with the admiral would give assurance he wouldn’t be killed at any moment
How tasteless of a comment, and full of the neckbeard brainlets to justify a war crime against ~1200 innocent men who did nothing besides not be a puppet of the British, as was proposed but rejected by France not a month earlier, but the British violating national sovereignty and at this point a nations neutrality has never been anything except a guarantee
All of you are disgusting, as a slavic Jew who’s had his great grandparents find their people some 30+ million people fewer from war crimes, at least those crimes are universally condemned
Disgusting to see war crimes being justified, even at a smaller scale

@nomar5spaulding your entire first obese paragraph is a complete strawman, just by the way
But to answer, Vichy France in the moment, was not Vichy France, it was France, the official France, etc etc etc, you’re talking out of hindsight, just like Drachinifel
But, do not strawman, a strawman is only as difficult to defeat as you make it
You’ve ripped nothing but your pants guy, you’ve said not one thought provoking counterpoint which I find interesting because the video above mentions a few you could argue, I’d still say they’re wrong but they’re not baseless
Unlike your strawmans

@nomar5spaulding none of my replies are bugged, are you on mobile?
It’s not unfair to distrust the words of Hitler as argued in this video, what is unfair is to assume complete failure, what everyone seems to miss in this war is this isn’t the first time France was kneecapped quickly by Germany, it happened in 1870, and no one expected that to be a problem, because it wasn’t
Face it, Britain is notorious for assaulting neutral nations on the pretext of “they may join the enemy” which is a war of aggression, a war crime, not even counting the people who died
And while they obviously had no crystal ball, look what it got them! Fuck all and increased French resentment and resistance
