Russians are convinced that the west doesn’t have the stomach to endure the problems the war has caused, every single ‘let’s compromise for peace’ article in the west only gives more credence to this tactic, they know that in functioning republics eventually the common voter is going to be the selfish asshole he is and be like ‘why are we involved in this war waaaaah’ which is hilarious to anyone who’s read a history excerpt on the back of a book, but dangerous in reality since stupid people are the majority of any population, Russians know this (it’s how Russian authoritarians have stayed in power for centuries) so they just have to sit and wait, they know Russia can handle economic crisis better than the west which scoffs at any disruption to their lives I’m not a fan or follower of the ‘western decadence’ theories but it’s undeniable the west lacks the stomach for what it takes to protect freedom
