@micfail2 exactly right it’s one of the many myths/Soviet bias that the soviet invasion actually mattered, as if the Japanese would get shit canned by the USA and then surrender only when Russia, a very weak naval power (who they curbstomped) would invade the puppet state

39:30 does Binkov’s recent video on nukeless 1945 Japan invasion video also help answer this? They show a source that Post war counting of Japanese aircraft was much higher than expected, for kamikazes I believe

@micfail2 more like Soviet bias that everything they did and made were spectacular, as Giangreco said, “the propaganda that they were the military that needed no help” or whatever But that is interesting and does explain the northern islands
