Why the K2? K2 isn’t bad, but K2 is made for Koreans and Korean geography, including heavy mountains, for 500 units it’s definitely not to cover the southern border or something, and polish people are slightly larger than Koreans

British equipment is stopgap until the American equipment is delivered, once the soviet equipment is retired or sold or donated, it’ll be American Korean and German, and there’s a decent chance either the Abrams or the Leopard will be replaced by the other and unify equipment lines I would expect at least

Makes sense polish navy is the weakest, especially with the Swedish and Finnish ascension to NATO, Baltic Sea will need a rename to NATO sea soon enough, coastal batteries on Swedish islands would be crushing

Both sides for time? The west isn’t trying to invade Poland lmao

@shogun3730 does the K2 really provide anything substantial enough to justify all the extra issues of having them that Abrams can’t provide? I’m doubtful

@shogun3730 again, like what? It may be easier on paper to maintain but it doubles the logistics workload at a minimum, had they stuck only with K2 it would make more sense, but not only that, assuming war between Russia and NATO breaks out (the only real war Poland is preparing for) do they really think the SKs are gonna be more reliable than the Americans? They’re definitely gonna be slower to get there with their stuff I’m no polish chief of staff but that’s kinda my point, on the surface at least it looks very bizarre without much reason, I wouldn’t object to K2 as the main choice, or K2 in limited numbers for the mountainous parts of NATO territory or even just the polish mountainous southern border, but for basically half the tank force (unless it’s just stopgap until more Abrams can be had, but it didn’t sound like that was the case) seems odd
