Comments by "The Looinrims" (@looinrims) on "Why is no one storing old tanks?" video.
Because the numbers are accurate unlike your nonsense, not to mention the stored tanks aren’t all viable for combat being left in weather without maintenance for decades

And then an artillery observer uses some Binos, and turns that into target practice
6
‘Amateur’ lol Who are you again?
6
The hell kinda wehraboo shit
6
Tanks are so obsolete everyone still maintains them and develops them That’s why the Chinese own some 5,000 of the damn things despite positioning themselves as a naval power That’s why the Russians keep 3,000 That’s why Europe keeps 4,500 Shit why do these professional militaries not listen to the homie Quentin on the YouTube comment section?
5
Lmao a classic This isn’t even about Russia and USA fighting each other, it’s just using them as examples being they had the two largest tank fleets 30 years ago, but no longer
5
For the price of guns!
5
@giovannibez9509 people genuinely interested in tanks would typically be more inclined to keep their stuff running rather than your usual gay hippie with a peace sign driving a smart car
4
@ChrisRedfield-- Russians are using T-62s, not just PR forces
4
Pfffffhahahaha That’s why the major militaries of the world still develop and maintain them right? Remember your place, internet commenter
3
@legatvsdecimvs3406 this is America No one fucking needs a reason to own a tank
3
…? Tanks don’t have their armor for show, as far as the nations of the world are concerned, their premier MBT of choice can handle a 125mm or a 120mm (depending on who they are) at acceptable ranges
3
@GOKUBLACK-xq4is not in context but of course context is scary for internet buzzword people
3
Ah yes the big brain youtube comment is the source of US doctrine No, in fact an officer literally stated the effective use of tanks in counter insurgency
3
@LaFonteCheVi that’s why everyone has them Drone strikes aren’t ever present, quit staring at proxy wars in the caucuses
3
Why not just procure normal artillery then? Cheaper, easier, more effective at more stuff than old tanks
3
@legatvsdecimvs3406 no, the medium tanks became MBTs, the IS lineage wasn’t the mbt of the Russians, it was T-44, then T-54/55
2
@thegrandimperialist168 no…that’s nonsense
2
@thegrandimperialist168 heavy tanks aren’t based on weight, the IS tanks were heavy tanks and went on as such, the MBTs are medium tanks evolved
2
@mariow7818 ‘Just big chunks of metal now’ uhhuh
2
Oh no it’s another “muh nukes!” So uh why do the Russians Chinese and Americans maintain gargantuan militaries? They own shit tons of nukes
2
@Sugarsail1 “don’t have the balls to commit unprovoked nuclear warfare that would collapse global civilization and wreck the environment of that area if not the planet” Seek. Help. Nuclear weapons aren’t first lines of defense
2
@ineednochannelyoutube5384 I know they are, it’s a proxy war between Turkey and Russia, in mountainous terrain, between two poor ass countries, it’s a stupid thing to use as a metric, especially a SOLE metric
2
@ineednochannelyoutube5384 sorry I must’ve missed where anything he said was wrong and or subject to bias Oops
2
@ineednochannelyoutube5384 I never said him saying it makes it more valid than others saying it The internet has a nasty habit of people just speaking strawmen
2
@tonyhawk94 to call a couple of mainly mountainous technologically backwards nations with tech that wouldn’t look out of place in the 80s ‘prototypes of modern warfare’ is…hilarious Perhaps the drones ruled the battlefield because they were the highest tech thing there…and of course the whole video Binkov did on that explaining it but you know whatever
1
@tonyhawk94 1. I’m not 2. Air supremacy got used, very intelligent 3. You just proved my point that the drones were the technological supremacy the Azeris had 4. You’re talking out of your ass with 0 proof on that bucko, major militaries have been contemplating drone threats for decades And 5. The Binkov video still kneecaps this assumption, most notably by pointing out how overloaded the bandwidth is for using drones, and of course any nation with any form of EW capability (something Armenia lacked) can beat the most advanced drones on the planet, ask the Iranians who captured an advanced US drone and showed it to the Chinese and Russians
1
@ailiharrington1073 no it’s not, it’s been conquered plenty of times
1
Heavy variants like Leopard 2SG, or the Tusk add on for the M1
1
@legatvsdecimvs3406 the KV-1S was a stopgap and and the KV1 itself admitted as a failed design by the soviet tech bureau
1
I mean they do? They’re just sitting in graveyards, they’re not active in the military, or even stored properly unlike the actual armor reserves
1
@lumberjackagies5158 once again, no, your thinking is reductionist and stupid frankly as it suggests militaries are pointless cuz muh nukes! Even tho uh, they invest in things like long range guided artillery, anti tank weapons, and sophisticated air forces, not exactly useful against insurgents nor a nuclear war Good god you have to be 12
1
@jonathanpfeffer3716 “nuclear winter is a myth” you’ve gotta be smoking that strong you gnome
1
@giovannibez9509 uh, I mean there are plenty of people who own tanks in the US, maintaining a vehicle that works constantly like your day to day car is a bit harder than maintaining something sitting there 99.9999% of the time
1
Anything can be used as infantry support, doesn’t mean the old tanks are a good idea in general
1
Hahahahahahahahha Tell me you know fuck all about military matters without saying you know fucking all about military matters
1
@xela6349 infantry are obsolete because you can just strangle them to death from behind or stab them with kitchen knives
1
What the fuck? 1. No, take off your tinfoil 2. What the hell? How desperate are you to conscript teens? Even African warlords have enough AKs to equip their child conscripts, so keeping bolt guns is pretty pointless unless you’re some Afghani insurgent 3. If you’re in a situation where your Abrams/T90s are all gone, or your carriers are all gone; please tell me how the fuck T-55s/M60s or whatever insert ship is going to solve that problem? 4. Modern equipment doesn’t translate into unreliable equipment just because your anecdote said so, javelin doesn’t exactly miss much 5. If you’re basing your military on “will it break in wmds?” you’re doing it wrong
1
@GOKUBLACK-xq4is a budget of $105 billion would not be sufficient for what you claim, just look at the issues with the current Russian aircraft carrier, and that may be sufficient for the navy alone and it’s air wings to procure such equipment, but Russia remains a land focused power, with the Air force coming second in terms of priority due to potential conflict with NATO and China, naval capability doesn’t serve Russia beyond the Black Sea dominance and Baltic Sea contest, with Finland and Sweden joining nato, it may not even be worth it to try contesting the Baltic Not to mention issues with russian corruption
1
Because the fight would still happen?

???
1
They don’t store the tens of thousands of dead vehicles and guns in graveyards dude, it’s just easier to throw them somewhere than to try to shredder them
1
@Daylon91 you missed the point, there are tens of thousands of old things in graveyards, but that’s not storage
1
They did not sell all of their tanks, they stopped the sale of some of their leopards, which are theirs
1
@ChrisRedfield-- https://youtu.be/lI7T650RTT8 No
1
This implies you’re in a situation where you, with old tanks, are fighting someone with modern anti armor equipment and in large enough numbers to break your tank force, which is almost impossible
