I can’t say I agree (assuming the translated comment is accurate), Taiwan’s older population are the ones nostalgic for reunification, the younger populace know no such nostalgia, look to Korea, the polls there about reunification see a trend, the younger the respondent, the more hostile to the idea they were, no reason the Taiwanese are any different.

Hard to say, Chinese economy is more unstable, more nations are rallied around US banners, most militaries are suffering poor readiness rates due to the Russo Ukraine war sucking every bullet available, China is of course weary about the backlash it would face by the world for its disruption of the global economy as Russia has
