That’s not a fair comparison, downgraded export T-72 relics that are apart of a poorly equipped army without sensors shouldnt be seen as analogues for a tank with somewhat modern sensors like T-90MS The gulf war is no indication of any conflict between US-Russian forces or equipment, as the study titled something like ‘Sands and Snow, the influence of soviet doctrine on Arab militaries’ concluded; the Iraqis were the least soviet in doctrine

Artillery cannot hold a hill for days on end in all weather conditions, artillery cannot stand side by side with the grunts on the ground to push through a city, cross a forest, plain, hillside, etc, artillery cannot crack bunkers in 10 seconds from bunker detection, etc Trust me guy there’s a lot of people before and now who are a lot smarter than both of us and paid more than us who make the very easy decision to keep tanks, especially not replacing them with artillery
