  35.  @MegaBanne  not an illusion, it’s the truth, when most of your food, all of your logistics (the most important part of war), 40% of your fuel, a majority of your aviation fuel, and 2/3s your resources for making explosives (pretty important) are coming from the West, then yeah, they wouldn’t stand a chance in hell without the west, that’s why it’s a team effort Also that whole air campaign siphoning off the resources of the enemy, to quote Prof Neitzel “from 1943-1944 the Germans spent 6% of their resources on tanks, and more than 40% on the aerospace industry, which was mostly to protect the Reich from air attacks, but counterfactual, what would happen if the Germans did not have to spend that much because there was less of an air campaign or no air campaign? Then the Germans could’ve built thousands and thousands of armored vehicles, and perhaps stop the Red Army, or at least significantly delay it” To put in perspective if the air campaign was halved, right, that means 20% went into aerospace and say the other 20% went into armored vehicle production, or just vehicle production, then they have their divisions more motorized, or they could have quadruple the amount of tanks, and as the old joke goes “my tank is worth 3 of yours” “good thing I brought 5” well that’s not exactly viable at that point, is it? I don’t understand this nonsensical “oh we did all the work” it’s not true from anyone, except for Japan the Americans did most of the work there, the Chinese did a minority but the second most work
