  1. As long as Trump continues with the annexation threats, seems to me people will not vote conservative. Also, seeing the situation the republicans created across the border pulls away a lot of voters from "our republicans". A recession is most probably coming, you do not want conservatives during a recession - they support entrepreneurs and investment (theoretically), but there will be not much of that in the foreseeable future.
