Oh boohoo! Ihlan Omar suffers from big mouth syndrome. If it is getting to be scary for her she might try thinking before she speaks.

@hakanpetersson2662 I don't agree. Ihlan Omar is a public official and all her words count. She is responsible for her own difficulties now. And yes it may get worse but u tube is not responsible for that either. My" moral backbone "is just fine thank you very much.

Ihlan Omar has offended the American public deeply during her brief time as a public official. First the American Jewish community then the president and now the memories of 9/11 victims and their families. She never apologized for the first and only gave a lukewarm "qualified" apology for the later. We are all responsible for our words and a Congress woman even more so. Death threats happen to public personalities. Apparently it has been happening even before and she has now taken the proper precautions. Words have power and she has to become more aware of that and think before she speaks. Although I don't feel she is unaware of her words as she is articulate and says exactly what she means to say. Lastly I resent your implication that somehow I or anyone else is responsible for her predicament. Criticism is is not incitement. So come down from that high horse before you get a nosebleed.

@hakanpetersson2662 Failure to take responsibility for her words and a lack of desire to apologize are her responsibility. All she had to do for her last "mistake" was give a heartfelt apology. She couldn't and didn't. I don't know what the end of this story will be and neither do you. It is time for her to take responsibility for her words their impact and their consequences. Perhaps then some of her fears will be laid to rest and people will view her with kindness and compassion. Again I take responsibility for my words but criticism is not incitement or racism or any other thing. It may seem convenient for you to imply that but then you would have to silence everyone who is critical of Omar. Is that your intent? It won't help. She has created a base of supporters and a base of detractors. Thats politics.

@hakanpetersson2662 I think the situation has evolved past the point of whether or not she deserves.. It had nothing to do with me at all. Do you think that if I say no or if I say yes it will reverse time? Its where does she go from here? Does she continue down the same road or does she rethink things? The ball is in her court and always has been.

@hakanpetersson2662 And you of course are the judge of good and evil. I always thought that was G-d. Now it appears that is Hakan Petersson. Ihlan Omar has confused her role of a Congress woman with a role of a SJW. She should get that straightened out soon before she again finds herself mired in more controversy.

@hakanpetersson2662 America is a country with laws. As a citizen of the US she has every right to ask for protection from the appropriate authorities. I understand she did. End of story. It was inevitable that her rhetoric would have attracted attention and I believe she understood that fact. Words are powerful. We should speak in a responsible way. Weighing each word and its consequence. As a public official it is even more of a responsibility. The ability to take responsibility is the mark of a intelligent and moral person. So far she has fallen short of that mark. Hopefully she will take a step back and rethink where she goes from here. That is her responsibility and only her responsibility.
