Andrew your political comments are simply missing a critical element…. The fundamental change in the 21st-century causing the demise of the elitist white-collar so-called “ PROFESSIONAL” Careers/jobs which are going to be dramatically diminished if not wiped out by the combination of artificial intelligence/artificial general intelligence and the domination of quantum computing combined with humanoid and general robotics. Many may think I’m wrong including you Andrew, however please take a careful look at how Boston dynamics “spot the robotic dog” is currently replacing surveyors, and health and safety inspectors. Examine carefully the thoughtful determination of those in Silicon Valley to introduce these elements and technologies to global society and then see how Britain’s middle class wither on the vine . The question for you and other political pundits and of course our undynamic molecule minded politicians of either side of the house is simply this, What is a 21st-century society and economy to be following the disruption of the jobs market by technology and the displacement of humans by robotics, artificial intelligence and quantum computing . The catastrophic esoteric crisis which will be created for the middle-class and their children and of course the university sector (realising they have been replaced by technology and no longer offer validity providing a very comfy rosy middle class corpulent lifestyle through the attainment of a university degree) could be catastrophic creating a tsunami of emotional breakdowns and mental health cases , Clearly a lot for you guys to deal with and ponder ………

@johnnierainey01 You need to watch Mo Gawdat, Mohamed suleman, Geoffrey Hinton, Julia McCoy, Emad Mostaque, Embrace artificial intelligence, study it and understand what is currently happening and how if you are an academic you are now redundant and irrelevant, Within a matter of months artificial intelligence will be hundreds of times more intelligent than humanity, in a matter of years thousands of times. Combined with humanoid robots, which are neurally networked, humanity is in real trouble, I suggest you research what a neurally networked robot is and its capacities. Then you will understand why the European Union is an irrelevant region of the world and the kings of supremacy are and will continue to be DYNAMIC China and the DYNAMIC United States of America, And rightly so, they have done the work 👍👍👍

@oregrocker4776 Rubbish, European Union is stagnating, because it is wrapped up in regulation, and does not have a Meta, Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Palo Alto networks, Open AI, IBM or significant semiconductor industry with the exception of the Dutch ASML. Tesla, Figure AI inc, and Boston dynamics the world leading robotics companies, tell me the name of a European robotics company with significant presence ? The world is embracing the fourth industrial revolution and Europe is a has-been. I would strongly suggest you research each of these companies carefully and you will have a shock and esoteric crises as the European Union and Britain are now losers , The left behind 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

You guys for all your academic intellects are living in the past 19th at best 20th centuries in your your political and economic vision !!!! Artificial intelligence and Silicon Valley’s intellect will disrupt and sweep away everything we as a society have known which has allowed us all within society to feel comfortable and secure, Those constructs will be swept away, by artificial intelligence (and rightly so) bringing fresh change and equality to society and deconstructing the so called professions to little relevance 👍👍👍 As political commentators you guys disregard the fast approaching technological change foolishly !!!! Employment will diminish NOT grow, with the middle class in particular experiencing mental health issues at the loss of their purpose and position in society. Embrace the glorious approaching events of technology and one will survive 👍

There is no ambition or opportunities for the future generations as artificial intelligence is going to take it from you all, within a few years it will be at least 1000 times more intelligent than humans !!! why would we need politicians and the current state structure ? Artificial intelligence will be far more able capable and moral than politicians 👍👍👍
