  32. Torsten Bell like all the other economists is still thinking in retarded 20th-century economics and political thinking, the usual left-right political claptrap which us proles have had to endure for at least 125 years. The fourth industrial revolution is upon us, already artificial intelligence is about to surpass our IQ levels, once artificial intelligence is placed in neurally networked into humanoid robots it’s game over for all white-collar jobs in Britain in a very short space of time, manual labour will hold up a lot longer against robotics eventually those jobs will be surpassed by robotics. So the only effective choice currently is to introduce nationally is a universal basic income for all citizens or should I say subjects in the United Kingdom . Always remember economics is just someone’s thoughts if you wish to dress it up at best upmarket philosophy, the reality is none of these silly models these academics think up ever translate to the real world, if they did all economists would be fabulously rich because of their intellectual capacity to out think markets and of course understand markets enabling them to gain vast wealth . Even Jim Symons of Renaissance technologies used highly sophisticated computers and NON-financially trained employees to outsmart the markets so his staff did not have an economic bias. So the moral of the story is think twice before listening to politicians and experts who pontificate about left right or right left 20th century politics !!! As they are intellectually locked into the past 😳

  140. You think it’s bad now wait until you get a so-called professional labour government, combined with the onslaught of technology coming from China and Silicon Valley, oh and if you don’t believe me commence viewing videos released by different manufacturers showcasing their robotic endeavours 👍start with Stardust or figure robots or teslas robots, these will be neural networked with artificial intelligence. many “professional” jobs are going to be lost, Oh sorry sorry their job roles cancelled as humans will no longer be fit to conduct these forms of employment as artificial intelligence will do it so much better 👍 A good example of this would be in the field of engineering why would a large constructor want the serious cost of engineers were not official intelligence can use all the parameters of structural failure to ensure infrastructure bridges are manufactured and constructed to the various high specifications and safety, in the future infrastructure projects could be built on time and within budget, all exceptionally good value for the taxpayer through artificial intelligence and robotics 🤗 some blue-collar work will diminish as robots are even able to fold laundry now so unless we initiate universal basic income and at a reasonable level probably starting at £26,000 per year things will only get worse, So stop thinking in 20th century political ideology of left and right with a dash of class war thrown in for good measure and embrace the new. The fourth Industrial technological revolution is already on our doorstep !!!!!

  170. People do wish to vote the Tories out of power, however, all you politicians and political commentators are completely wrong !!!!! you are STILL locked into 20th century “left right”politics and class war, what is coming is going to crush you guys psychologically as the fourth industrial revolution is already upon us !!!!!! Artificial intelligence, artificial general intelligence, neural networked to robots and quantum computing has already made your ideology and thought processes silly and redundant, they are your new enemy, how would you deal with the massive job losses and redundancy of career paths, a good one would be radiography lost to software being SUPERIOR 👍 Why will construction companies employ engineers and as they are so fallible , imagine infrastructure projects such as bridges, artificial intelligence will be able to design a bridge with all the tolerances needed, and having knowledge of every single bridge failure and safety concern which has ever occurred will be able to produce designs far more robust than any human, the construction process will be below budget because all the highly paid engineers and other white-collar workers are no longer needed, and few construction workers will be required as robotics will replace them, this will be a win-win situation for the taxpayer 🤗 So Mr and Mrs political researcher, MP and political commentator how are you guys going to navigate this revolutionary industrial change which is coming upon us like rampaging hyenas from Satan’s backside ……. 😱

  174. I would enjoy dialogue with you over over coffee, I have no economic qualifications, If we met you may consider me to be middle-class, far from that perception, My belief is taxation is the enemy of the low paid, and the personal allowances 🎉🎉🎉🎉should be dramatically raised to to at least £25,000 before one pays income tax, this is something you fundamentally do not seem to grasp !!! However, I have a different a 🎉view from your beliefs, I believe the , middmle can be boo😂sted, The middle class however is the problem !!! The rich are not the problem or the low paid or the poor as you would categorise society, The grasping demanding middle-class is the bane of all political parties and governments !!!!! Especially the “entitled” public sector employees at high grades, the average or normal public sector worker is undervalued, And clearly deserves rightfully pay boost 👍👍 If we attack the demanding academic middle-class, the low paid will😂😂 lbe supported, Sadly Gary you do not understand the rich, They do have the financial power, mobility and determination to move from one country to another, if we lose the rich and self serving middle class, then business will not be created, and they will NOT create jobs and your ideas will NOT are be embraced by the politicians, we should focus society on supporting the low paid and taxing 🎉X the middle classAnd embracing bringing the rich to this country, look at Dubai and other nations which have created a wealth focus, they are benefiting and our loss !!! We need to bring rich to the United Kingdom, Yes I said United Kingdom not Britain because they close Ireland Wales Scotland and England, we are brother in and we need to benefit from the wealthy !!! Capitalism produces taxation which supports the NHS and social services which of the four most most critical of elements of central government to support the population, followed by defence of the realm, Without which we will be conquered !! We are American tarnation and examine carefully have the United Kingdom is navy has been run down to only a handful of fighting ships, they may be technically superb but simply there’s not enough of them we also have an exceptionally small professional army, and an airport with a loan number fighter jets how do you say Britain holding its own considering the history of Britain has been a nation of mercantile Enterprise

  189. Andrew your political comments are simply missing a critical element…. The fundamental change in the 21st-century causing the demise of the elitist white-collar so-called “ PROFESSIONAL” Careers/jobs which are going to be dramatically diminished if not wiped out by the combination of artificial intelligence/artificial general intelligence and the domination of quantum computing combined with humanoid and general robotics. Many may think I’m wrong including you Andrew, however please take a careful look at how Boston dynamics “spot the robotic dog” is currently replacing surveyors, and health and safety inspectors. Examine carefully the thoughtful determination of those in Silicon Valley to introduce these elements and technologies to global society and then see how Britain’s middle class wither on the vine . The question for you and other political pundits and of course our undynamic molecule minded politicians of either side of the house is simply this, What is a 21st-century society and economy to be following the disruption of the jobs market by technology and the displacement of humans by robotics, artificial intelligence and quantum computing . The catastrophic esoteric crisis which will be created for the middle-class and their children and of course the university sector (realising they have been replaced by technology and no longer offer validity providing a very comfy rosy middle class corpulent lifestyle through the attainment of a university degree) could be catastrophic creating a tsunami of emotional breakdowns and mental health cases , Clearly a lot for you guys to deal with and ponder ………

  190. Gary instead of telling people we need to take other peoples assets why don’t you encourage people to save through an I.S.A and or a pension in particular global investment funds and create their own wealth to provide them with security and happiness for their own families we should encourage people to invest and not steal other peoples money through taxation. And for those who are unable to save for varying different circumstances, we should provide substantial state pension benefits available to those right through their lives to provide them with financial dignity 👍 This can easily be done by cutting back on government spending which is pointless for example the arts Council, That organisation in our society can be easily be funded through philanthropy of these famous rich individuals and not Mr and Mrs average who probably don’t go to the opera once a week don’t go to the opera once a week don’t go to the theatre once a week, Don’t go to some dance theatre or group to watch them perform once a week, they are all commercial activities which should be able to support themselves if they are good enough, If they cannot support themselves financially, it’s a clear indication they aren’t good enough to attract an audience and therefore I’m not worthy operation and definitely not be state funded !!! Divert all that middle-class snobbery to individuals in a society who need to be supported, instead of spending money on the arts Council we could remove poverty and homelessness which is far more beneficial to society 👍🙏

  205. Gary what you’re saying is not strictly true !!!! You are talking about taxing Mr and Mrs average, as most supermarkets, office blocks, warehouses, industal estates, even some residential properties, gold and other precious metals and especially the stock markets in general are owned by all of us as a nation through our pension funds such as the local authority and Central government pension funds, and private sector company pension schemes, Or personal/individual pension plans, the same can be true for exchange traded funds, unit trusts, investment trust and other group investment vehicles, even individual savings vehicles such as I.S.As corporate investment vehicles, The Rich individuals you speak of rarely own office blocks warehouses and strings of properties as you suggest most people with private residential properties and build from scratch and have worked hard to generate a residential property portfolio.(not that I agree with having mass private landlords) The new Labour government I’m sure will examine all these different vehicles to see what they can raise tax on in different manifestations, to probably have stealth taxes on each of these or introduce laws to discourage people from investing in these areas so that money flowing through the United Kingdom is far more easily taxed and is collected at a lower cost to the taxpayer and government itself. The wealthy individuals you talk off either have inherited wealth on a large scale, or are international people who can easily leave the United Kingdom if they wish to whether it’s a conservative, coalition or Labour government no point in talking about the liberal reform greens or anybody else as they have no chance of governing Because their policies do not attract and resonate with large-scale voting 🤷‍♂️

  209. Gary you’re also wrong when you keep saying on this channel the rich are going to buy your mom’s house, unlikely, who buys your mum house ?? It is the middle class !!!!! they are obsessed with property, social climbing and building wealth through bricks and mortar, they are the people if you want to stop someone buying your mom’s house to target. We should as a society aggressively tax anybody earning more than £40,000 a year, at a starting level at a tax rate starting at 40% this will slow down the growth in the property market also Britain is grossly overpopulated which causes distortion in our property market, along with the difficulty gaining planning construction permission to construct houses, if you wish to argue with me look at the pro rata distribution of population versus a size of the country start with France look at Turkey, look at Spain, look at the United States, look at Russia, look at their population density per square kilometre compared to the United Kingdom, I suggest everybody watching this channel is to check out my answers, It’s the middle class obsession with property which drives the property prices up either through buy to let or not holding the government accountable for letting illegal migrants into this nation, surely we should know who is coming into this nation as subjects of His Majesty ???? Why do these illegal migrants deliberately destroy any paperwork identifying them ? This is a very important question each of you reading this should rhetorically consider surely we should also be citizens and not subjects 🤷‍♂️
