  1. Ford, GM etc are going to have a lot of vehicles waiting for delivery to dealers if they aren't careful with their build quantities. If consumers can't borrow then demand will fall.

  2. They need to sort out whether they are going to release vehicles for sale with features not fitted and fit them at a later date - things like stop/start.. This is probably why consumers are hesitant to buy as they feel they are not getting what they really want.
