I remember when I lived and worked there the scale of some of the factories was breathtaking - an electronic factory with 32 surface mount lines! I spent over four years there and loved it.

everyone seems to think that rare earths are hard to find - they are not. It is the processing of them that is difficult to do safely.

Interesting fact for you. I worked in electronics and I needed a part that I could source from the huge USA companies that sell them or I could get them from my supplier in Shenzhen. I got them from Shenzhen and then worked out that they had come from one of the USA companies so my supplier could buy them from the USA cheaper than i could.

@PhiloSurfer Ukraine has 7% of the Europe's titanium (6th largest in the world) so not all of it is rare earths but I wonder if Mr trump realises that if Russia takes over the East of Ukraine then they will control even more of the titanium than they already do. The rare earth deposits are mainly in the Donetsk region - ring any bells?

@robf3902 More importantly if Russia annexes the East of Ukaraine then it will have a greater proportion of Titanium than it already has.

@inquisitvem6723 Same with rare earths. they are not uncommon at all. rare earths is just because they are not found in pure forms.

The fixation is not on war - the fixation is making money from supplying the Pentagon at prices you can't charge anyone else. the 'war' is just the excuse for a lot of it. Think of how many aircraft are in the desert that were never flown in anger and think of the cost of them.
