The Australian Commodore was an amalgam of the Opel Rekord and Senator modified for Australian conditions. Holden even produced front panels for Daewoo Royale as the same panel was used in our Commodore. I remember first seeing an Opel in China and it just looked like a shrunken Commodore. The main difference was under the bonnet. Our choices were 2.85 L I6 3.3 L I6 4.2 L V8 5.0 L V8

I have read a couple of magazine articles that all refute that Mk2 and S-type were used by robbers. Once transits came available they were the choice.

Time for a drag race with Hubnut and Betty. They should be fairly even but i suspect Betty would just win.

It appears Ford use the same system in various markets. The speed of the indicators increase when you have a bulb blow so it also means if you put led bulbs in this causes them to flask faster. My Australian falcon does this. I just stuck with original type bulbs as they seem to last a very long time. In the nine years I have been driving it i have replaced one. My car chews through rear brake light bulbs though - i suspect that is from the vibration when closing the tailgate (it is a wagon).

@WOKE-is-LEFTISM yes -the early ones were an amalgam of two Opel models (front from a Senator (to fix a Holden 6) and the rest from Rekord) and changed because the front fell off an Opel test mule. the Australian engineers were the reason that Opel used rack and pinion in the Senator. The VE and VF were Australian designs using the Zeta platform which they also used when Holden did the design work on Camaro. They were specifically designed to be either RHD or LHD.
