  2. @ I think you will find it is basically sandstone with arkose content .the iron content of the arkose gives it the rust colour from the iron oxide coating of feldspar in arkose.

  4. @ read up on it - it is of course iron oxide but that is part of the arkose/feldspar not an iron ore deposit> Are you aware that at some stage in its history Uluru turned 90deg!

  5. We have desalination plants but they are expensive. We built one in Victoria to drought proof our state but it still sits idle.
