  2. the main users of route numbers are freight (either trucks or buses). For most people it makes no difference. i can't see any particular reason for any urgent action. We do have toll roads and they can be expensive depending on your vehicle. On Melbournes Eastlink a falcon ute is more expensive that a Commodore ute because the cab is separate.
