  1. You don't get beware of wombat signs anywhere but Australia! I found the signs in China were easy to interpret once you learned a couple of their characters and Australian ones I am used to. I do think that picture ones are the best. Ian - does the US have "no parking" as well as "no standing" signs? They are confusing to visitors to Australia as they you can stop at a no parking sign to pick up or drop off a passenger but you can't do that at a no standing sign.
