  1. years ago I worked at GAF which assembled the RAAF F/A18A and B aircraft. As a special treat for our staff and our next door neighbour Hawker de Haviland we got the test pilot to fly an F/A18A up to where our factory was in Melbourne and do very tight turns at a low level - just above the level of the west gate bridge which was nearby. Evidently Melbourne Air Traffic Control were not impressed but were told here to go. It was truly remarkable how tight a turn that aircraft could achieve. the staff really appreciated it as they seldom saw the final assembled aircraft flying as final assembly was done at Avalon Airport (which we owned at that time). i was fortunate that my job allowed me to visit avalon reasonably often so i saw them a lot. Avalon host our biggest airshow every second year.
