  2. You are right about trying to hit the stumps (also called wickets). The common ways of getting a wicket (dismissing the batter) is hitting the stumps, getting a fielder to catch a ball that has been hit and carries to the fielder on the full and by catching the batters out of their crease.

  3. Ian - you nailed it with your comment about the grip being important. Shane had different grips for different types of deliveries. It was obviously hard for batters to pick what he was about to bowl.
