  1. Thanks for your concern - it is appreciated. The big problem for this recovery will be that there is shortage of a lot of things from cars to furniture and this will make it even worse.

  2. the power of water is best explained using metric measures. A cubic metre of water weighs 1 tonne (not much different to an Imperial ton). When it is moving it pack a punch.

  3. its not just Queensland. The North of new South Wales has also copped it badly. It has also affected wildlife a lot - I have even seen a photo of a platypus that was struggling. We have a guy who does some design work for us and he lives in Queensland. He got 1000mm of rain in 4-1/2 days. that is a metre! Still if you gave me a choice between this and the events in the Ukraine I would take this!
