  1. When i worked in China I had a Kiwi visitor who was staying at a major hotel chain in Shunde city (part of Foshan, Guangdong). I offered to take him for a local meal and he was so happy as he was sick of the hotel menu. We had a great night eating Chinese cuisine so the next night we tried a local Japanese restaurant and the girls freaked as they thought we would not be able to order things. I knew enough to get us some beers and then rang my girlfriend who told the girls what we wanted. It so great to try different cuisines no matter where you find them.
