@duckersduck3096 Thanks for that. I get sick of people saying you can't live on this amount when they really have no idea of what the cost of living is in the country they are talking to. I am now a lot better informed thanks.

@gitawrongtranslation-youtu9701 The only way I find out these things is to enquire which is what I have done here. I know what it cost to live in China a while back so I know it is a lot less than Westerners expect. thanks for your info.

Imagine only having to spend 5 of them. I guess that doesn't apply but remember it is not how much you earn that matters it is what you can buy with it. Costs in one country can be far different to others. When i worked in China I could have survived on USD 600 per month and still had a 2bedroom apartment - i wouldn;t have had a fabulous standard of living but would have been Ok.

@kate9576 the Apple sub-contractor riots are in India in the Wistron factory - not China at all this time.

@Dplusithicus The Wistron factory where the employees destroyed its equipment (or so it reported and i haven't seen photos to show extent)

One thing I learned when working in China was not to trust any company that was Taiwanese owned but operating outside of Taiwan. I don't know what they are like in Taiwan but they are not good employers in China from what I saw.
