This is the reason why clusters now have codes that the system verifies the vin number before starting - at least you can't just swap clusters.

I have always had this problem with Private health insurance giving you a choice of doctors in Australia. You have a choice of bulk billing doctors just not quite as big a filed to choose from and how o you select one anyway? Word of mouth is the best way i guess. When it comes to specialists your doctor refers you to her/his mates anyway (they often have shareholdings in private hospitals where the specialist they refer you to are. I have been having skin cancer treatment since 2002 and it has been done at a specialist Cancer hospital in Melbourne at no cost to me other than the 2% of my taxable income levy that I pay when I do my taxes. i will concede that it is more difficult for those outside of metropolitan areas though,

@AnadolununAslan Medicare does cover certain tests like glaucoma etc.

@averosmonopolis I stopped private health insurance in my twenties and am now 65. I have had skin cancer treatment at PeterMac in Melbourne which has included theatre visits, day care operations etc all at no additional cost to me.

if you keep saying that country is your enemy then guess what - eventually they say 'fair enough we will treat you as our enemy too'

In Australia ambulance is not free (except for road accident) but for a reasonable cost you can insure for it. One of my friends was very happy he had when his son required a helicopter trip that would have cost him 15K.

@davidjohnston7512 does NSW have an subscription coverage like Victoria where you pay the Ambulance service itself for your annual coverage?

@lsynder When I lived there I had good dealing with the Police. One time I wanted to know who I could get my staff to ring to sort out a noise problem so I rang the police number. they sent a policeman who didn't speak English very well but he could see my problem so he got another Policeman to come. This guy spoke perfect English and was obviously high up due to his uniform and decorations. He took me down from the hotel to the work site (they were excavating and building a Metro station) and he got them to change their work so that the noisy stuff was done during the day wherever possible and the situation was solved. I may have been terribly lucky but I was very happy with the result.
