Interesting thing is that you don't need to boil water for tea. I lived in China for over four years and the only time I saw boiling water used was at a tea ceremony. because the water they used comes from bottles there is no health reason to boil it and tea certainly doesn't need it to be boiling to infuse. Most Chinese have machines that take a 19litre water bottles and provides hot or cold water from the same unit. Since I have been back in Australia I never boil water for tea or coffee as our tap water is OK (potable) straight from the tap. At work we have an 25 litre urn that we use for tea and coffee ant is set for 96 deg C. If I am cooking pasta at home I use an induction cooker to heat the water and cook the pasta.
