  1. When I lived in China one of my mates Matt was the chef at the Holiday Inn steak restaurant. A mate and I went for dinner and Matt cooked Australian style hamburgers for us. A couple of Americans saw what we got and came over and asked where it was on the menu. We explained the situation and Matt came out and agreed that he would cook them for the two Americans the next day (they had already ordered from the menu). the feedback was entirely positive.

  2. Youtube have to get used to the idea that they are International and that we have different ideas and morals to the USA. Some of the problem are caused because machines are involved not humans - an instance is when British people tried to register their address in Scunthorpe and the machine picked up that the four letter word was contained in the legitimate place name.

  4. Expensive realestate in Australia depends a lot on location. Sydney harbourside would get my vote as the most expensive followed by the Toorak/South Yarra in Melbourne. The prices for houses have risen beyond the joke though. Land value is often what they sell for if the house can be knocked over and replaced by a couple of units - developers are really busy.

  6. i am not sure whether I have previously told you but my nephew took his son in to store that sold these collectable models and his son pointed to one and said that it is same as your dad. The guy asked how he had managed to get the model before him as he believed he had the first ones. My nephew says no i don;t have the model - I have the actual car!. the guy freaked. That car has since been sold to an Australian living in America.

  8. another good Youtube series for you and your family to look at is "One pack Wanderers" which has a couple doing a circuit of Australia - they are so good that Mazda gave them a ute to use and then a car for Tasmania.

  10. the magenta lights are used for the various authorities that control heavy vehicles. They have the same status as red and blue on emergency vehicles. Amber lights are warning only so tow trucks and escort vehicles have them.

  12. the Brock/Cleland car shown at 14:42 is a replica. My nephew recently sold the original to an Aussie expat in America so Ian look out for it as i think he intends to race it in demonstration events.

  13. The Chev SS sales were deliberate. they only wanted to sell 15,000 of them. When we did the prototype instrument clusters we were told that the entire run would be no more than 15K so that is why they did not advertise them. I think the reasoning was the overall fuel average for chev vehicles (in California I think) - if they sold more of the SS then it would have increased their overall consumption figure.

  14. I know of two racing Commodores that have been sold lately, one went for about AUD250,000k (not sure of the auction fees) but another went for considerably more than AUD500,000K and was a private sale.
