  1. All the speakers assume that businesses are the fulcrum point of the ‘capitalist’ economy… and are responsible for the inevitable outcome of income inequality. No one seemed to be aware of the role of government in this discussion. The government sets up the framework, determines the regulations and has a major impact on running companies. For instance, they can determine who gets government loans, set interest rates, determine hiring requirements, and punish businesses they don’t like. In the US , for instance, diversity hires on major corporations, on the BOD… are a Trojan horse… for changing the entire DNA of the corporation… from a for profit corporation to a government driven corporation. Governments constrain and determine directions of corporations… and should have been included in your discussion on capitalism. It’s more accurate to call capitalism……government capitalism.
