  1. It’s heartbreaking to see this. Reliable energy creates economic opportunity and would lift the standard of living of all the people in South Africa. But the fact that the infrastructure has deteriorated over the last 5 decades… points to one fact… the government does not care, or does not want electricity to go out to all of South Africans. And no amount of ‘loans’ or aid from other countries will make that happen. Aid and loans have gone to South Africa… and still no reliable energy. The money is going into bank accounts of a very elite group of people…. and it won’t stop unless each community builds that infrastructure itself. It has to be grass roots building. Don’t expect other countries to pay for it. The local communities have to pay for it. That’s how the U.S. built it’s infrastructure and economy. The U.S. never received aid from other countries. It was built on blood, sweat and tears. It took 200 years. Each sovereign nation must build itself up….to where it wants to go. 🌎
