  1. This was a fascinating interview. I would just like to mention, that the US has supported NATO since 1949, and it was created to protect Europe in particular from the Soviet Union. That means Europe has had almost 75 years to build up defenses in their own countries.. or alliances. They have not done that… however the US taxpayers provided most of the NATO budget in addition to protecting many countries under the umbrella of the US forces for those 75 years.. So when you say ‘can we depend on the US’ to continue to pay for these wars…. it is very dismaying to a US citizen whose relatives fought and died in Europe and Vietnam…. and who now are sending 40 BILLION taxpayers dollars, in addition to what those taxpayers have given so far to NATO. Trump was saying…. Pay your fair share Europe….many US taxpayers who have to work for that 40Billion… are saying the same thing.
