  2.  @Croz89  See that's the thing. It's about how well a country can adapt. Estonia is probably the most successful because they surpass even Western standards. Many former Soviet Bloc states are now doing much better economically. However, in places with poor governance and high corruption (Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria) you get oligarchy. Same can be said about East Germany. Capitalism is treated like a boogeyman, but corruption and poor policies are brushed aside.

  4. The real problem is not the division. The real problem is East Germany had to deal with 4 decades of thuggish "communism". And North Korea has been a brutal dictatorship with a brainwashed population for 80 years. THAT is the real reason that East Germany is still shit.
