  2. Mass arresting people even just for having a tattoo or being related to a gang member is not law and order. The failures of the state don't justify dictatorship. You claim "some innocents" but journalist find that about a 1/3 are unjustly imprisoned. CECOT hold 40,000 people, meaning around 13,000 might just be innocent. So even by realpolitik standards, the means do not justify the end.

  3. El Salvador isn't the only country with mass gang violence and domestic terrorism. Yet, only El Salvador has the largest prison in the world. In fact, relatively, GITMO is nothing compared to CECOT.
