  1.  @jonahfalcon1970  Doesn't count. Lafayette and the French were an ally. It's similar to how General Ike became Supreme Allied Commander of Europe. But Italy was not even a belligerent in the American Civil War

  3. This whole series has been Chad Garibaldi trying to unite Italy with his myths and battle tactics while the L Piedmont Sardinia try to sabotage him over shortsighted greed.

  6.  @likeafox-q4g  Yeah, that was crazy. The President is only Commander-in-Chief in America so it was like asking President Lincoln to make him "co-President", which would make him a superior authority to even Vice President Johnson. To make matters worse, this was at a time when the President's and the Federal Government's legitimacy was being violated by secession.

  7. Nope. Garibaldi wanted two things. He wanted to be Commander in Chief of the Union, too. Talk about insanity. As for the first thing, President Lincoln couldn't stop neither slavery nor secession without saving the Union, first. (Mind you, the Union's border states were still slave states.)
