The fact that Russia's most capable industry was its defense sector is one of the main reason I believe that Putin's War Machine was formidable... until the 2022 Russian Invasion of Ukraini that is.

@---jj9lf You're correct. Oil from the Urals can easily be transported on existing pipeline infrastructure. However, the larger point, is that the European Union & UK are willing to undergo some, but not all, hardships needed to make the global oil industry more competitive. More oil on the market which correlates to; More competition which correlates to; Weaker Russian Monopoly oil exporting oil which correlates to; Less profitable Russian energy sector which correlates to; POSITIVE FEEDBACK CYCLE>

1) Whether it is Iran or Russia, economically speaking, an unhindered trade relationship with the West is the most beneficial path to prosperity. 2) In this last stretch in the Petroleum Age, oil and gas are more valuable than ever before. Making the competition between OPEC and other nations (Russia) especially fierce. 3) And already within OPEC, the Sauds and Pres. Biden have already brokered a deal to bring fuel prices down by increasing global supply (with the West being prioritized). Some subsequent correlations include lower gas prices, more stable gross inflation, and the world at largest easing away Russian energy. 4) Iran's economy and government have more benefits with the sanctions lifted and political relations normalized than with withholding access to its the oil supply. So unless Russia has a sweeter bundle of carrots, positive US-Iran relations are a win for both countries ...under the "right" terms, that is (which is why negotiations are still on the table).

@lokomike2911 Sir. You have missed months of action. Right now the front line stretch from Kharkiv (NE) & the Donbas region (E) to Mariupol + Sea of Azov (SE) & Crimea + Kherson (S). That is the entire Russo-Ukraini Border and 80 percent of Ukraini's Black Sea coast line.

@eaman11 momentum* One; The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, a major OPEC state, has already made a deal with Biden to increase supply (not by drilling but by process existing reserves). Two; For Tehran, the West lifting sanctions would give it much-needed breathing room in its foreign policy -- which it needs if it is to become a great power.
